Batman's Villains Cast

Well, the much-anticipated wait is over to discover the new villains in Nolan’s newly invented Batman series. Without further dues, Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman. Tom Hardy is Bane, the gargantuan hulk of a man who looks like a hybrid of Spawn and Duke Nukem, but with brains to go with the brawn. I have to say that this casting is music to my ears, and think Hathaway is absolutely the purrrrfect choice (see what I did there!) for Catwoman, and believe her rendition of the character will be a true mix of sexy feline and ass-kicking b*tch. Hardy as Bane seems like the obvious choice for Nolan, not only because he has just finished working with the Brit on Inception, but also because Hardy has shown he can power on the pounds as he did for Bronson. Pitching Bale against these two heavyweights is a great exit for the franchise, and I only hope that Nolan can maintain the standards he set on The Dark Knight. The newbies are in for a hard slog, especially after Heath Ledger’s bar-setting portrayal of The Joker, and I was secretly hoping for Gordon-Levitt as The Riddler, a role which would’ve allowed him to exercise his more menacing chops. Still, I couldn’t be more confident in Nolan’s two pieces of casting. Roll on 2012!

  1. I think we were all hoping for JGL as the Riddler, but this works for me. Stamp of approval.

  3. I did. Although, I didn't love that film quite as much as everyone else seemed too. Still good though and his performance delivers
