Pacific Rim Trailer

To complete my trilogy of trailers this week, we have Guillermo del Toro's latest film, Pacific Rim. With a directorial filmography that boasts Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, Hellboy (1 & 2), Blade II and Pan's Labyrinth we now have the Mexican guru turning his hand to action epic, and boy does this look huge. Pacific Rim sees Earth attacked by gigantic monsters called Kaiju who emerge from deep under the Pacific to wreak havoc and decimate our race, which in turn prompts the humans to fight back using human-controlled giant robots called Jaegers. We have Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnan on lead action hero duties, and by the look of the visuals, del Toro certainly shows that he can handle giant robots and fearful beasts better than the heavy-hitters such as Bay, Bruckheimer and Cameron. Don't want to get ahead of myself, but this looks to be the action film of 2013.
